A little tin of strange things, collected from the natural world.
This unique natural history oddity collection has been assembled inside a wonderfully aged vintage metal tin, creating a miniature travelling cabinet of curiosities.
Inside you will discover an eclectic assortment of natural curiosities, including animal bones and teeth, feathers, a snail shell, botanical elements and tiny specimen bottles , all arranged together amongst the beautifully weathered interior of the original tin,
The result is a wonderfully unusual piece with the feeling of an old naturalists collection - part field kit and part curiosity cabinet.
The aged, patinated tin adds to the character, with marks and signs of age that make it feel like something that has been discovered!
Responsible Sourcing
All animal parts are collected while walking in the UK or sourced from roadkill, natural deaths, by-products from the meat trade, salvaged from vintage pieces or occasional gifts.
Butterfly wings are salvaged from specimens which are too damaged to be framed. These may come from butterfly farms, nature finds, captive reared specimens or vintage frames.
Sometimes the exact sourcing/reason of death pay not be known, however I will always answer any questions you may have.
Packaging & Shipping
We aim to keep our packaging as environmentally conscious as possible. Items are packaged in cardboard boxes, including good-quality reused boxes where possible, and wrapped securely using tissue paper and recycled/reused protective materials.
All orders are sent 48 tracked using Royal Mail, and posted within 5 days.
